Wrestling With Scripture - The 1000 Year Reign of Christ
Yesterday we suggested that the millennium might NOT be an actual 1000-year period following Christ's return. It could be symbolic of the church age. That really didn't sit right with me (and many listeners) so we forced the issue through our Berean filter. The process is probably more interesting than the final result. We were able to get even our Berean Filter to respond with both views! We've posted the unedited chat with ChatGPT below. The point is that AI is not the ultimate answer to understanding... it is a tool. You should have a team at your disposal that includes other Christians (Iron sharpens iron), your Bible (possibly several translations), the Holy Spirit and your guided conscience.
As an example, how many of us have acquiesced to the idea of a pre-tribulation rapture. It's ALL OVER THE PLACE! But does it make sense? Does it really even seem like it can happen in a worldly sense... before tribulation? How is it perceived by those left behind? ... I had a ton of questions. Ultimately, I asked scripture to evaluate that and even the most prominent supporter of the rapture, Paul himself, disagrees with a pretribulation rapture. Somehow, that is never brought up! How can you have a pre-trib rapture if you should have seen the man of lawlessness arrive onto the scene? There's your tension and your contradiction that you have to deal with. So don't just accept it! Dig in and do some discovery. Go ahead and use A.I. if you want but the ultimate resource has to be your bible.
Spoiler: we came to the conclusion that the millennium is an actual 1000-year reign of Christ on Earth after his triumphant return.
