The History of the Future

Daniel Two | 36-49

"The History of the Future" covers Daniel's prophecy after he had revealed the King's dream. Daniel set the stage that no human could match. God revealed the dream and the interpretation. The source walks through some background to highlight just how disturbing this vision would have been to the Babylonian culture and to Nebuchadnezzar. We also delved into what Babylonian culture was like at the time - even comparing that superpower to the superpower of today (the United States). We're not implying that the United States is the modern-day Babylon, but some of the similarities are striking. We examine the gods vs God context in the bible as well. It's always worth reviewing that to understand where the gods of these cultures came from - biblically. We end up summarizing Daniels prophecy into a "History of the Future" that helps the listener map out visually the statue in the vision with how it played out in history.
