Confronting The Dispensational View of End Times with the Actual Biblical Text
We’ve fallen for this, I admit it. I mean us too. Rabbit Holes and Meditations is a journey. You can easily pull up our podcasts on Rapture and see a variety of interpretations. We don’t hide what we used to believe. The point is that we keep searching.
Today, I rest in this one thought. If a person can imagine an end times scenario where he is looking up to the heavens and wondering why he is still standing there and his brother was taken, wondering why perhaps his brother was raptured and he was not, then he is not reading the text. That person is listening to somebody’s framework of how end times is going to happen. That person has not read the text. He’s living in a fantasy of biblical proportions. It makes for a great movie.
You, my Christian brothers and sisters, will not be standing there or left behind. You won’t even be looking for that lightening return for all the eyes to see because when that day happens, you’ll be lifted. Not before and not secretly. There will be zero doubt. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
No secret rapture. No twisting the text to mean something it doesn’t. Perhaps it’s time to stop listening to the popular online theologians - because that drama is exactly what invites the popularity of their social media channels.
Rapture theory only brushes the surface of the level of detail that dispensational charts will have you wandering into.
